A collection of collages made from film stills, printed, cut up, reassembled
Re-Arranging the Universe
An interview. My film of the canal was projected over me as I spoke. In film and collage anything can happen.
Holding the Moon
Another collage made in response to a live interview, again the film projected over me as I ad-libbed
Holding on to My Head (JUST)
A photo collage based of a reflection in a window where interior and exterior combine
Blue in the Window
Another image based on a window reflection
Chico Mendes and son
A rubber tapper, and environmentalist, fought to preserve the Amazon rain forest. Assassinated by a rancher in 1988
The collage made of a film still from Blurred Edges. (Watch on Annie Catford Vimeo)
Virginia Woolf portrait
Virginia as an adolescent girl, living in Bloomsbury, superimposed upon shadows of a modern Bloomsbury pavement
Carol Grimes & Rita Hayworth as a mermaid taking tea, in a beach hut
I illustrated as a photo collage, a story written by Carol, of this idea
The Hythe to Dungeness railway
These three collages are made from stills of my film of the journey. I have tried to give the individual frames a sense of movement by cutting them up, as well as the original movement in the film itself. Each print 43 x 18.5 cm framed. 50 x 25 cm
